Before:
An awful laundry closet. We had to turn the dryer sideways to open the door!!! And this was across from the pantry *which is under construction =;)* so this area was impossible to manuever.
After: A spacious mudroom. I still need to craft a bench cushion and add more baskets but overall I am very happy!
We had the washer and dryer relocated in the house so I could repurpose this room as a mudroom. It took a weekend to construct and another weekend to caulk and paint overall not too long. With fve kids and tons of coats, etc..we needed the space!
Here is a sneak peek at what I am currently working on:
More to come!

Wonderful! I really miss my old mudroom... don't really need one here, but it was nice to have!
Oh, I've always wanted a mud room! You did a great job! I'm curious, though. Where did you put the washer and dryer?
Great use of the space! Love the bead board and the coat hooks and I can totally envision all of the pretty baskets:)
Great job!
Thanks for sharing!

Just beachy
Wow! I love all that beadboard and trim work! I bet the floor will be fabulous too!
Beautifully done!! Always wish I had one of those!!!
Awesome job!! Love the mudroom and you gave me such a great idea! I love that you used beadboard for the ceiling! I have a tiny laundry area and the plaster ceiling came down!! I think I am going to replace it with beadboard and the great thing is I have several sheets left over from my breakfast nook project!!
Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments. I appreciate them.
Oh la la! I could use you at my place. Looks great!!! Job well done. Xoxo-BLC

At first, I thought your "after" picture was from Pottery Barn cataloge - amazing!
